The second track in the 'Breathe' collection from MC's collaboration with Lubaina Himid was released to mark the Spring Equinox.

'Amore/Amor' grew from a melodic idea of front woman and core writer Rushton's, that she initially envisaged going in a more classical direction. However, through working with the band, and weaving in fragments of Himids 'naming the money' poems, the song took on its own form.

While working on the lyrics, it became clear it was necessary the original poems remained untouched, as they stand as a complete work in their own right. Rushton therefore looked for ways to incorporate elements of their messages, while making a totally separate work. This led to the decision for the lyrics to be written in Latin to avoid any living languages with all the socio/political connotations these entail. Although Latin is not without some power connotations, as a 'dead language' it is in more ways free than others.

The phrases are drawn in parts from the original work, including the line: 'ego usus ad vivere in mea nunc vivimus familiae seorsum' -
'I used to live with my family, now we live apart.'
